LOCKPORT – A Cambria man, who already was under indictment on charges of selling crack cocaine, was arraigned in Niagara County Court Friday on a new indictment accusing him of possessing an illegal handgun.
Ronnie H. Chandler, 29, of Saunders Settlement Road, pleaded not guilty to second-degree criminal possession of a weapon and second-degree criminal contempt. The unregistered handgun allegedly was found when Chandler’s vehicle was pulled over by State Police on Caravelle Drive in the Falls on Aug. 19.
The contempt charge was filed because Chandler’s wife Stephany Chandler, 25, was in the car despite having an order of protection against Ronnie.
In October, Ronnie Chandler, who in 2011 was sentenced to 18 months in prison for crack possession, was indicted on charges of dealing crack in the Falls Jan. 28 and July 7, 2015. He has pleaded not guilty.
