LOCKPORT – A man who was apprehended by police after skipping his sentencing date for a drug felony was sent to state prison Thursday by Niagara County Judge Matthew J. Murphy III.
Deon G. Dennis, 21, of 18th Street, Niagara Falls, drew two years behind bars and one year of post-release supervision.
Dennis had pleaded guilty last year to fifth-degree sale of a controlled substance for selling crack cocaine twice in Niagara Falls in September 2014. Murphy had to issue an arrest warrant after Dennis failed to show up for his original sentencing date.
“I just want to get it over with and do the right thing,” Dennis said.
“Well, you didn’t do the right thing by me, did you?” Murphy shot back.
