A head-on crash involving a car and a Rural/Metro ambulance on Thursday morning injured both drivers, West Seneca police said.
The crash on Seneca Street near the mainline Thruway overpass happened just before 10:30 a.m. Witnesses told police the car was heading south and crossed into oncoming traffic.
The driver of the car, who was not identified, suffered a serious head injury and was taken to Erie County Medical Center. The driver was ticketed for failing to keep right, having unsafe tires and driving without a seatbelt. Further charges may be pending, police said.
The driver of the ambulance suffered a head injury and leg injuries, while a paramedic in the rear of the ambulance suffered a minor cut to the head. Both were also taken to ECMC.
The patient in the rear of the ambulance was uninjured in the crash, police said.
