The Rev. Wade Thomas Way to be dedicated in Niagara Falls

NIAGARA FALLS – The City of Niagara Falls will dedicate the Rev. Wade Thomas Way at 3 p.m. Saturday at Bethlehem Revival Temple, 2010 Virgina Ave.

Signs will be placed at Virginia Avenue and 20th Street and Hyde Park Boulvard and Virginia Avenue in honor of Thomas, who died in 1999 at the age of 75. He was a co-founder of Revival Temple and a pioneer African American broadcaster, hosting “Good News” on radio and TV. He also founded the gospel quartet “Songs of Joy.”

Thomas also was known for his work with youth in the community as a member of the Ministerial Council of Niagara Falls.

Speaking at the dedication event are Mayor Paul A. Dyster, Niagara County Legislator Owen Steed and City Council Member Ezra P. Scott Jr.
