A City of Tonawanda man with a previous drunken driving conviction was charged early Tuesday with four felonies, including several driving while intoxicated charges.
Frank J. Alessi of State Street was pulled over on Roosevelt Avenue and found to have a blood-alcohol level of 0.18 percent, more than twice the legal limit of 0.08 percent, City of Tonawanda police said.
Police also found 2.7 grams of cocaine during the stop, along with various drug paraphernalia, including scales, grinders and packing materials.
He was charged with felony DWI, aggravated DWI, driving while ability impaired by drugs, criminal possession of a controlled substance and three counts of criminal possession of drug paraphernalia. He also was ticketed for an unsafe lane change, improper turn and crossing the center line.
Alessi had a DWI conviction in Amherst in 2010, police said.
