Judge was right to uphold the firing of BPO oboist
I was relieved to see that U.S. District Judge Michael A. Telesca refused to overturn an arbitrator’s decision to uphold the July 2012 firing of Pierre Roy, the former Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra principal oboist. It has been made quite clear he has no business being part of such an esteemed orchestra.
Being a bully and acting like an immature brat is no way to be at work or in life, regardless how gifted or accomplished one is in his vocation. Kudos to the BPO, its lawyers, the arbitrators and Telesca for making a stand against this type of behavior.
