Niagara River Chamber sets annual awards gala

LEWISTON – The Niagara River Region Chamber of Commerce will honor 10 businesses and individuals at its annual awards gala April 29 at the Conference and Event Center in Niagara Falls.

The event includes a silent auction and hors d’oeuvres followed by a sit-down dinner, awards program and dancing.

Modern Corp. will receive the Chairman’s Award. Supermarket Liquors and Wines will be presented with the River Region Partnership Award.

The chamber and its associates picked Warren’s Village Hardware as Lewiston Business of the Year and Ray’s Tavern as the Youngstown Business of the Year. Porter Empty Return Center has been selected as Ransomville Business of the Year and Niagara County Central Rotary will receive the Sanborn Business of the Year award.

Tim Henderson has been selected as Village of Lewiston Citizen of the Year. Robert Monroe is Village of Youngstown Citizen of the Year, Porter Town Justice David Truesdale has earned Porter Citizen of the Year, and Ronald Winkley has been named Town of Lewiston Citizen of the Year.

The awards are based on leadership, dedication and achievement.

The businesses are chosen by the chamber and business associates, while citizens are chosen by the municipalities.

Tickets are $95 and are available through the chamber office, 895 Center St., Lewiston. Tickets and sponsorship opportunities are available by calling 754-9500.

The gala’s new location will allow the chamber to host more attendees and also work with area member hotels for overnight accommodations.
