It's the second-last weekend of the regular season for Atlantic Hockey and its a big weekend for both Canisius and Niagara.
The Griffs are fighting for fifth spot and a bye for the first round of the playoffs. Junior Shane Conacher leads the team offensively and is sitting at 99 career points. He would become just the second junior in program history to reach 100 points. The other? His older brother Cory. Catch up on Shane and the Conacher clan in today's feature story in the Buffalo News.
Canisius hosts Sacred Heart at 7:35 p.m. in HarborCenter.
Meanwhile at Dwyer, Niagara hosts RIT at 7:05 p.m. The Purps are hoping to solidify 10th place in Atlantic Hockey. They're locked into going on the road for a first-round playoff series, but there's a pride factor in not finishing last in the league for the second straight season. The Purps are on a hot streak, too with points in their last four games (2-0-2). They host the Tigers tonight, who enter the weekend in third place but are dealing with major injuries to their starting goaltenders.
