Gary Clark Jr. Buddy Guy. Joe Bonamassa.
All three are household names under blues-loving roofs, and this week, they all have work in the top 10 spots of Billboard’s Blues Music Chart—along with Buffalo’s own Tommy Z.
The longtime local guitarist’s latest album “Blizzard of Blues”—released at the beginning of February with separate area shows at Tralf Music Hall and the Strand Theatre—plowed into the no. 8 spot in its first week on the chart, sandwiched between Bonamassa’s “Live at Radio City Music Hall” (7) and “Muddy Wolf at Red Rocks” (9), and two spots ahead of white-haired virtuoso Johnny Winter’s latest release, “Live Bootleg Series, Vol. 12.”
Tommy will return his electric blues to Buffalo stages with a now highly anticipated 9 p.m. show March 4 in Dinosaur BBQ (301 Franklin St.). Until then, learn more about his latest release at www.tommyzband.com or via his recent interview with the News.
