Burglary reported in Town of Porter

PORTER – Thousands of dollars worth of jewelry, as well as a $600 iPad, were stolen in a break-in in the 2600 block of Braley Road earlier this week.

The owners said they arrived home just after 5:30 p.m. Monday and found the living room window in the back of the house had been broken. They had been gone all day and returned home to find tire tracks and footprints in the snow that were not there when they left.

In addition to the iPad, the owners also reported an empty floor safe, a sapphire and diamond necklace; a gold necklace with an emerald eyed cat on it; three diamond and gold necklaces; a pair of 1/4 carat diamond earrings, and a six-diamond gold dinner ring valued at $2,000, were stolen.
