Gary P. Herbold, auto mechanic, Verizon technician

Feb. 16, 1960 – Feb. 11, 2016

Gary P. Herbold, of Williamsville, an auto mechanic and telephone technician, died unexpectedly last Thursday in Kenmore Mercy Hospital. He was 55.

Born in the Town of Tonawanda, he attended Sweet Home High School.

Mr. Herbold began working on cars as a boy in his mother’s driveway. After moving to Williamsville, he established Gary Herbold Service at a former Bauer Radiator location and attracted customers from all over Western New York. He also was a field technician for Verizon for more than 20 years.

He enjoyed boating on the Niagara River and Chautauqua Lake, where he owned a home for many years.

Survivors include two daughters, Kaitlyn and Chelse; two brothers, Michael and Daniel; and his companion, Peggy Train-Carson.

A reception will follow visiting hours from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday in Beach-Tuyn Funeral Home, 5541 Main St., Williamsville.
