LOCKPORT – All Saints Catholic Parish will hold a four-night Lenten retreat focused on the Catholic Year of Mercy from Sunday through Wednesday in the church, 76 Church St., Lockport.
Pope Francis has proclaimed a year of mercy focusing both on divine forgiveness and on showing mercy to those who need it.
Each session of the retreat will last from 7 to 8:15 p.m. and will feature Gospel readings and talks by the Rev. Walter Szczesny, All Saints’ pastor, and the Diocesan Parish Renewal Team of the Rev. Stephen Vasek and Sister Marcella Anne Wendzikowski.
A team of 30 parishioners has been working since November on the program, which is aimed at practicing Catholics from all parishes who want to take a second look at their faith and non-Catholics of any age, marital status, lifestyle, church affiliation or lack thereof. No advance registration is required and the programs are free. A children’s program will be offered in the parish hall.
