Niagara Catholic to hold Mardi Gras fundraiser

NIAGARA FALLS – If you missed the celebration in New Orleans you can come to Niagara Falls for the Niagara Catholic Junior/Senior High School Mardis Gras Dinner and Auction on Saturday at the school, 520 66th St.

In true Western New York style, the gumbo and jambalaya will be replaced by a dinner of prime rib and chicken Francesca catered by The Como.

Co-hosts for the event are Rich and Paula Wright and Gulio and Elizabeth Colangelo.

The guest master of ceremonies will be Lou Paonessa and the auctioneer will be Niagara County Sheriff James R. Voutour. A special appearance will be made by Drew Cerza, the “Wing King.”

The evening will include both a live and silent auction, as well as a basket auction. The basket auction will be open to the public, free of charge, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Some items to be auctioned off include: a Jack Eichel autographed, framed jersey; four Disney park hopper passes with Southwest Airline tickets and luggage; a Josh Gorges autographed hockey stick; longboard and helmet; a yacht cruise on the Niagara River; a freezer with a $200 gift card to Federal Meats; a 50-inch Samsung smart television and more.

This is the school’s largest event and fundraiser. Money raised will help offset tuition costs. This year’s goal is $90,000.
