The Erie County Department of Social Services will host its second annual Foster Family Fair on Saturday for anyone interesting in learning more about what it means to become a foster parent. The fair will be held from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. at Science Hall Commons at Canisius College, 2001 Main Street, Buffalo.
Prospective foster parents and those who are interested in learning more about the process are encouraged to join current foster parents and area agencies that provide training and programming to find out if foster parenting is for them.
The Foster Family Fair is free and open to individuals at least 21 years old who may be single, married, divorced, widowed, or living with a partner. The primary requirement is for individuals to have room in their home and in their heart to help a child, or children, on a temporary basis. Organizers hope the event will attract at least 100 new foster parenting prospects. More information is available at www.fosterfair.com
