Arthur F. Kramer, longtime bus driver, musician

July 8, 1933 – Feb. 6, 2016

Arthur F. Kramer of North Tonawanda, a retired bus driver, died Saturday in HighPointe on Michigan after a short illness. He was 82.

Born in Tonawanda, he served in the Korean War as a driver and mechanic in the Air Force.

Returning from service, Mr. Kramer began a long career as a bus driver. He worked for Grand Island Transit, Blue Bird, the Niagara Frontier Transportation Authority and several school districts. He retired as a school bus driver for Niagara Falls Coach Lines in 2012.

A self-taught musician, he played guitar and sang. For several years in the 1980s he performed with the group Niagara Country.

He was a 54-year member of Alcoholics Anonymous.

Survivors include three sons, Daniel, Kevin and Kenneth; a daughter, Kimberly; and 13 grandchildren.

Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday in Bath National Cemetery, Bath.
