Where we live: Lancaster

The Town Clerk’s office is extending its hours by an extra hour until 6 p.m. two Mondays each month before every Town Board meeting, as part of a trial from this month through July 25. The office will be open from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. prior to board meetings on Mondays, which typically fall on the first and third Mondays of each month.

If a board meeting falls on a Tuesday because of a Monday holiday, the office also will be open until 6 p.m. on that particular Tuesday.

Town Clerk Diane M. Terranova also announced that a night depository for town, county and school tax payments is located at the entrance to the new addition of Town Hall facing Clark Street. Payments should be placed in a sealed envelope with a phone number written on the check. No cash is to be deposited.

All payments for the current town and county taxes deposited after midnight on Feb. 16 will be considered late and the penalty will be applied.
