MAYVILLE – Patrick Swanson, acting Chautauqua County district attorney since former District Attorney David Foley became a County Court judge in January, announced Thursday that he is running for a full turn as a registered Democrat seeking cross-party endorsements for district attorney.
Swanson, 38, has been Foley’s chief assistant for the last five years. He is seeking cross endorsements from all of the political parties on the ballot.
A native of Sherman, he is married to Dr. Natalie Guiffreda Swanson, who grew up in Ashville and is a practicing optometrist. The couple and their two children live in Fredonia.
Swanson graduated from Wake Forest University with a degree in physics and graduated from the University of Memphis Law School.
Swanson said he is running for office because he sees and understands the problems permeating throughout the county, including many young people struggling with drug addictions, home owners victimized by property crimes and woman and children suffering from domestic and sexual abuse. He vows to work with the entire community “to keep Chautauqua County safe for our families.”
