A fire severely damaged a vacant house at 740 South Division St., between Smith and Emslie streets, and spread to three neighboring homes early Tuesday morning.
The blaze, which was reported at about 12:40 a.m., spread to homes on each side and behind it, the Buffalo fire department said.
Damage to 740 South Division was estimated at $80,000. The home at 738 South Division sustained $60,000 in damage to the structure and $20,000 to the contents. The house at 744 South Division sustained $7,000 in damage, while the house behind it at 745 North Division sustained $1,000 in damage.
No injuries were reported and the cause of the two-alarm fire is under investigation.
