Anita Alvarez of Kenmore teamed up with Mariya Koroleva of Concord, Calif., to earn bronze medals in the German Synchronized Swimming Open in Bonn, Germany.
They finished with a combined score of 163.1913. Laura Auge and Margaux Chetien were first at 169.3136 points, while Karem Achach and Nuria Diosdado of Mexico were second at 167.7737.
“We have a beautiful choreography in both tech and free, and Anita and Mariya look good together,” U.S. Senior National Team coach Lolli Montico said. “They have improved a lot from last year.”
Alvarez and Koroleva will take part in the French Open next weekend. They will try to qualify for the Olympics at an event in Rio de Janeiro on March 2-6.
