TOWN OF NIAGARA – A new option for medical care will become available in western Niagara County with the opening of the Niagara Falls Urgent Care Center on Monday.
The grand opening celebration and community open house will be held from 3 to 5 p.m. and the center will open for service at 6 p.m. at 3117 Military Road, near the Casa Nova Restaurant in the Town of Niagara.
Co-owner Dr. Santanu Som said their objective is to deliver quality care and have patients treated and returned to their daily routines in about an hour.
“With Niagara Falls Urgent Care there will no longer be a need to spend an entire day at the emergency room,” Som said in an announcement of the opening.
Urgent care provides immediate medical service for outpatient care of acute and chronic illness and injury. Urgent care is not meant to replace someone’s primary care physician, but can be a convenient option when someone’s physician is on vacation or unable to provide a timely appointment.
Som said the center will handle physicals, injuries, falls, fractures, sprains and more. Its physicians are extensively trained in emergency and critical care.
He said that in early 2015 they recognized the need in Niagara Falls for a facility that bridged the gap between primary care offices and the emergency room. Som said his staff also was made to feel welcome by the administration and staff at Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center.
“They are clearly dedicated to improving the community’s health,” he Som said.
“Together we have formed a relationship which allows us to offer the community far more than the typical urgent care center.”
The Niagara Falls Urgent Care Center will be open from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday.
