A man was beat up and robbed Saturday morning outside the downtown Tim Hortons at Main and Court streets.
The victim told police he was punched in the face and slammed to the ground then hit in the head with a ball of ice, according to police reports. The victim then had $20 ripped from his hand.
The victim told police he recognized his attacker, but did not know his name or where he lived.
The robber was described as a dark-skinned black male, about 6 feet tall, 35 to 40 years old, with a mustache, sideburns and a beard and wearing a black jacket with a gray hoodie and black sneakers.
The victim walked to St. Michael Church on Main Street, where he was transported to Erie County Medical Center at about 10:15 a.m. Saturday, police said.
