Suspicious Niagara Falls death ruled a homicide

NIAGARA FALLS – The man found dead under “suspicious” circumstances at 1011 Michigan Avenue late Thursday morning was a homicide victim and was identified as Duane Price, the 41-year-old man who lived at that house, Detective Lt. John Conti of the Niagara Falls Police said Friday afternoon.

Price, who had been reported missing late Wednesday evening, had been fatally stabbed repeatedly at the base of his skull and neck and an autopsy conducted at the Erie County Medical Examiner’s Office in Buffalo confirmed his death was a homicide, Conti said.

Conti said detectives have collected pieces of evidence at the murder scene. Police crime scene unit investigators reportedly employed a high-tech digital 3-D scanner inside the home during the evidence gathering.
