Learn how to color your world

Want to color in good company? Join one of these groups that meet here in Western New York:

• Coloring expert LJ leads a group in relaxing and easy grown-up coloring techniques, including different types of coloring pencils and markers, at 7 p.m. Feb. 26 and March 25, Barnes & Noble, Boulevard Consumer Square, 1565 Niagara Falls Blvd., Amherst. For more info, call 837-7209.

• Coloring aficionados gather at noon on Tuesdays and 5 p.m. on Thursdays the Brighton Place Library, 999 Brighton Road, Town of Tonawanda. For more info, call 332-4375.

• A coloring group also meets at the East Clinton Branch Library, 1929 Clinton St. The next gathering is 10 a.m. Feb. 27. For more info, call 823-5626.

Here are ways to virtually join the coloring community:

• Visit doverpublications.com and sign up for coloring book sample pages that Dover will email you every couple of days. Dover also offers occasional coloring contests. Free printable samples are also available from various websites such as crayola.com, thecoloringcafe.com and trailofcolors.com. Search the Internet and you will find more.

• Check Facebook for coloring groups that will allow you to kibbutz with other coloring fans around the world, discuss the latest news on coloring, swap tips and share your work. A few are “Coloring Books For Adults” and “Adults Coloring Fanatics Group.”
