Brian Michael Sheehan of Williamsville, a financial official at Litelab Corp. in Buffalo, died unexpectedly Wednesday in Millard Fillmore Suburban Hospital, Amherst, after he was stricken ill while playing hockey. He was 48.
Born in Massena, he was a graduate of Brother Rice High School in Bloomfield Hills, Mich., where he was an all-state diver. He also was a member of the diving team at Oakland University in Rochester Hills, Mich., where he earned a bachelor’s degree in finance.
Mr. Sheehan worked at General Motors and other companies associated with the automobile industry for several years, then came to the Buffalo area to work for his father’s business, Riefler Concrete Products. After it closed, he joined Litelab in 2008 and was assistant controller.
He was a member of St. Gregory the Great Catholic Church.
A lifelong sports enthusiast, he began skating at age 3 and began playing team hockey when he was 5. He also was an avid golfer.
Survivors include his parents, Brenda and Michael A.; and a brother, Daniel M.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10:30 a.m. Thursday in St. Gregory the Great Church, 200 St. Gregory Court at Maple Road, Amherst.
