Car, school bus collide in North Buffalo

A car and school bus collided Thursday morning in North Buffalo, sending an occupant of the car to the hospital.

The First Student school bus is not under contract with Buffalo Public Schools and was not transporting city students, said district spokeswoman Elena Cala.

A First Student bus was taking students from Amherst to three private schools in Buffalo, according to Chris Kemper, spokesman in Frist Student in Cincinnati.

No students were injured, he said. They were transferred to another bus and taken to their respective schools, he said,

A dark, four-door sedan was involved in the accident, which occurred at around 7:40 a.m. near Starin and Depew avenues. A person from the car was transported to a local hospital with non-serious injuries, said a source at Rural Metro ambulance service. No further details were available, the official said.
