Your go-to winter skincare

Winter is a time for making snow angels, drinking hot cocoa and unfortunately dealing with dry, acne-prone skin. Luckily, these five beauty products will help your skin looking refreshed and rejuvenated while battling the cold. Quench your skin's never ending thirst this winter with a little help from some friends:

1. Boscia Tsubaki Beauty Oil

This light weight oil is perfect for adding just the right amount of hydration into your skin without making it feel or look greasy. The formula features Tsubaki (Camillia) and Wakame (Japanese Sea Kelp), which help to keep skin tone even and well-moisturized. Apply a generous amount all over your face before bed and you will wake up to skin that looks plump and refreshed. Or, apply in the morning to give your skin that extra boost of life.

2. Nip + Fab Glycolic Fix Exfoliating Pads

Dealing with dry patches and acne scars? The key ingredients in these wipes that can aid in this battle are glycolic acid, hyaluronic acid and blue daisy. Glycolic acid, a familiar ingredient that many of you have probably heard if you're a skin care junkie like myself, serves to gently remove dry patches, while brightening the complexion of your skin at the same time. Hyaluronic acid is what helps restore moisture and refresh the skin, while blue daisy soothes and calms.  If you find your skin looking dull, lifeless and breaking out frequently during the winter time then this is just the product you need to keep in your routine.

3. Mario Badescu Facial Spray

Another staple to have especially in the winter is this Mario Badescu toner. As someone who swears by Mario Badescu products, even I was surprised at how moisturizing and beneficial this was to my skin care routine. Many people advocate that rose water is vital to your skin's health and this toner is the reason for that. The combination of aloe, rose water and herbs found within it helps to hydrate and refresh my skin no matter the weather outside. Just spray on bare skin or over your makeup and it seals the moisture right in. Once you use this, your skin will be lost without it.

4. LUSH Vanishing Cream Moisturizer

Probably the most important part of a skin care routine falls on the moisturizer you choose. After trying many moisturizers that left my skin feeling greasy, I stumbled upon this holy grail product. This product is great for those that hate that heavy, oversaturated feeling many moisturizers tend to leave on the skin. Everything about this moisturizer is great from how it absorbs into the skin to how it battles acne and breakouts to one of its key ingredients, rose water (so that's why I love this product). The only thing it's missing is SPF, but other than that this is the one you want to be reaching for when it comes to great moisture without the greasy feeling.

5. Mario Badescu Drying Lotion

Last, but not least is of course an acne spot treatment. Any skin care junkie knows the importance of having one to reach for when her skin isn't quite behaving itself. The reason why this is great for the winter time is because unlike most spot treatments that contain harsh ingredients such as salicylic acid or benzoyl peroxide, which can stain your towels (be aware of what you're putting on your skin), this one contains a gentle sulfur. Apply this once or twice on those stubborn pimples that refuse to go away, then moisturize it and within a week I promise that pimple will wish it never messed with your flawless face. No muss, no fuss and your skin will look fabulous once again!
