Nietzsche's (248 Allen St.) is set to host an evening of stripped-down performances on Jan. 28 headlined by the fresh to the scene group, Yali.
The new project from Humble Braggers' Bryan Zells and percussionist Jack Murphy ditches the lush synths of Zells other band for a slice of indie soul that blends the likes of My Morning Jacket, Jason Mraz and alt-J. The duo's debut single "Tart" was shared earlier this month and will be included on the pair's debut EP "Ancient Heart," set to drop in March followed by a release show at Nietzsche's.
Joining Yali will be a bare-bones performance by Jacob Peter, the bluesy solo project of Zells' former Humble Braggers' band mate. Musician Andrew Kothen will round out the bill.
The free show begins at 8:30 p.m.
