Hospitality West, the company that owns and operates Pizza Hut restaurants in Western New York, awarded $42,907 to 14 local children’s charities through its Raising Dough for Kids organization in a ceremony Tuesday in the Amherst Pizza Hut, 3324 Sheridan Drive. The funds will be used for programs for at-risk youth.
The money was raised through two fundraising programs at area Pizza Huts last year. Since Raising Dough for Kids was founded in 2002, the restaurants have donated more than $950,000 to children’s charities in the Buffalo, Jamestown and Elmira areas.
This year’s grant recipients include the Boys & Girls Club of Buffalo, the Boys & Girls Club of Lakeshore/Eden, the Boys & Girls Club of Western New York, Buffalo Hearing and Speech Center, Catholic Charities, Cazenovia Recovery Systems, Family and Children’s Services Niagara and the Food Bank of Western New York.
Also Gateway Longview, Lothlorien Therapeutic Riding Center, Carly’s Club through the Roswell Park Alliance Foundation, Special Spaces Buffalo, the Morlock Foundation and the YWCA of the Niagara Frontier.
