More than 260 fake and stolen gift cards seized at Peace Bridge

U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers on Wednesday seized 266 fake and stolen gift cards at the Peace Bridge from four U.S. citizens, officials announced.

The officers inspected the four citizens early Wednesday morning, identified only as a 22-year-old male, a 19-year-old male, a 18-year-old female and a minor, all from the Detroit area.

A search turned up 91 $50 gift cards and six $25 gift cards that may have been fraudulently obtained and 170 gift cards that were re-encoded or fraudulent gift cards that contained stolen personal identity information, a statement said.

The gift cards were seized and turned over to Immigration and Customs Enforcement Homeland Security Investigations.
