Jacqueline M. Walsh, retired teacher at parochial schools

Jacqueline M. Walsh of Amherst, a retired parochial school teacher, died Saturday in Millard Fillmore Suburban Hospital, Amherst. She was 68.

Born in Niagara Falls, the former Jacqueline Mullane graduated from high school at Stella Niagara. She received a bachelor’s degree from Canisius College and a master’s degree from Niagara University.

Mrs. Walsh was a fourth-grade teacher for 36 years at St. Agnes School in Buffalo. Later she was a substitute teacher at North Tonawanda Catholic School and St. Amelia’s School.

She enjoyed cooking and decorating.

Survivors include her husband of 39 years, Michael C.; a brother, Jerome Mullane; and two sisters, Margaret “June” Root and Jill McCoy.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10 a.m. Friday in St. Jude the Apostle Parish, 800 Niagara Falls Blvd., North Tonawanda.
