Two thieves stage gunpoint robbery of Buffalo taxi driver

Two men wielding a black handgun stole $220 from a Broadway Taxi driver late Monday afternoon in the city’s Broadway-Fillmore area, Buffalo police reported.

The driver told Ferry-Fillmore police he picked up the two men at Broadway and Bailey Avenue at about 5:45 p.m. and drove them to their destination at Coit Street and Paderewski Drive. That’s when one of the two men pulled out the handgun and robbed the driver, who had his shirt ripped during a brief altercation, according to the police report.

Police described the two thieves as a white male wearing an orange jersey with the number 88 on it and a black male wearing all-black clothing with a tattoo on the right side of his neck.
