Teenager arrested after hit and run property damage accident

NIAGARA FALLS – An unidentified 18-year-old youth was arrested Saturday by State Police on Grauer Road in the Town of Niagara for a hit and run property damage accident on Military Road here.

Troopers found a multi-colored smoking device and a metal grinder containing marijuana residue in the youth’s vehicle, and he was arrested on charges of leaving the scene of a property damage accident, driving while intoxicated, unlawful possession of marijuana, following too closely and failing to stop at a stop sign.

He also was found to have a blood-alcohol level of 0.17 percent, more than twice the state’s legal limit. He was issued traffic tickets and ordered to return to Niagara Town Court on Feb. 22.
