Half & Half Clothing Co., a fixture in the Elmwood Village for more than four decades, has changed hands.
Former owners Debbie and Bill Sidel have retired. They sold the clothing store and the building at 1088 Elmwood Ave. to Jennifer and Kilby Bronstein.
Kilby Bronstein was a longtime employee at the store, and the Bronstein and Sidel families are close friends. Debbie Sidel has been a highly visible and influential person in the Elmwood Village.
The store is temporarily closed while the new owners conduct renovations. It is expected to reopen by mid-April. The name of the store will remain Half & Half.
The new ownership will add men’s clothing and home goods. The new decor will incorporate reclaimed wood from their family’s farm and will feature shelving and other flourishes by local custom carpentry company Wrafterbuilt.
