A 60-year-old Blasdell man stopped for allegedly speeding along Southwestern Boulevard near Route 249 Tuesday afternoon in the Town of Brant was charged with felony driving while intoxicated and other charges.
Robert Sojda was pulled over by Brant Police Officer Kevin Dalton about 3 p.m. Police said he had a drunken driving conviction in 2014 in Hamburg, and his blood-alcohol reading on Tuesday was 0.28 percent – more than three times the state’s legal limit.
He was also charged with first-degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, aggravated DWI because of his blood-alcohol reading, failing to use a court-ordered ignition interlock device and speeding. His car was impounded and he was driven by Brant police to Hamburg Town Police headquarters. Hamburg police drove him home. Sojda was ordered to appear March 10 in Brant Town Court.
