BNRinkside: Quinnipiac No. 1 in the national poll

Teams are wining. Teams are tying. Teams are splitting weekends. And so there is no consensus on the top team in men's Division I hockey according to the voters of the latest USCHO.com poll.

Quinnipiac took the top spot with 30 first-place votes. North Dakota was second with 15, St. Cloud with four and Providence with one. Me? I went went North Dakota on my ballot after they picked up three points against Colorado College. Quinnipiac tied Maine and Rensselaer this week.

Notre Dame and Denver are both surging in the second half. The Fighting Irish are undefeated in 12 straight while Denver is on an eight-game unbeaten streak. Nebraska-Omaha (lost three straight) and Cornell (winless in four) are trending in the opposite direction.
