Would-be fast-food customer charged with DWI

Buffalo police say they found a drunken-driving suspect passed out behind the wheel of his vehicle in an unusual place early Sunday morning – in the drive-thru lane of a McDonald’s restaurant in the city’s East Delavan-Grider area.

Northeast District officers responded to the incident at about 4:30 a.m. Sunday on Grider Street at East Delavan Avenue. They brought the man back to the Accident Investigation Unit office, where they say he registered a blood-alcohol level of 0.16 percent, twice the legal limit.

Police charged Charles Price, 31, with driving while intoxicated and aggravated unlicensed operation, for driving on a revoked driver’s license.
