Suspected bank robber arrested after car runs out of gas on Thruway

A Lockport man wanted by the FBI in connection with several bank robberies was arrested over the weekend when his rental car ran out of gas on the Thruway.

Just before 12:30 a.m. Saturday, a state trooper came across a disabled vehicle on the Thruway in the Town of Pomfret.

The driver, David E. Foltz, told the trooper his rental car had run out of gas.

It turns out, the FBI office in Buffalo had a warrant out for Foltz’s arrest in connection with several bank robberies across the state, according to the State Police.

Foltz was turned over to the FBI.
