Drum roll, please.
Ringo Starr and his All-Starr Band are on the road, and the tour is heading to Western New York. The former Beatle and his band will be performing June 4 at Seneca Allegany Resort and Casino, Salamanca. Ticket information will be forthcoming.
The All Starrs are Todd Rundgren, Gregg Rolie, Steve Lukather, Richard Page, Warren Ham and Gregg Bissonette. This lineup of musicians can put on a satisfying show, as they proved one rainy day at Artpark in 2014 – a show that sold out 12,000 tickets almost immediately.
News Pop Music Critic Jeff Miers gave the Artpark show thumbs up, calling it “one of the giddiest – and at times, incredibly strange – sets of music we’re likely to be gifted with this season.”
Miers reported that Starr was in good voice and seemed incredibly fit for his age, which was then 73. Of the musicians, he wrote: “Simply put, there was not much these guys couldn’t do. And when they all joined together on vocal harmonies, the choir that resulted certainly stretched heavenward.”
Starr, in a recent interview with the Boston Globe, kept it simple.
“I love this band – we have a lot of fun together on and offstage, so here we come again,” he said.
The Salamanca stop is the second on the tour, which begins June 3 in Syracuse.
