FREDONIA – There was no sign of foul play in the death of the Georgia woman whose body was found in a car late last week in a McDonald’s parking lot in Fredonia, police said Monday.
Fredonia Police Chief Bradley C. Meyers said investigators are awaiting the toxicology results from an autopsy performed at Erie County Medical Center on Monday morning on Darlene Depto, 48, of Adairsville, Ga.
Depto’s body was found Friday in a snow-covered car that was parked in the rear parking lot of the restaurant at the intersection of Routes 60 and 20.
Depto, formerly of West Seneca, was reported missing on Jan. 19 and hadn’t been heard from for several weeks following Christmas. She had been visiting relatives in the area in recent months, had been distraught, according to relatives, and was living out of her car.
