The Colden Tubing Company, the tubing hill just north of the Kissing Bridge ski resort, has closed, according to Kissing Bridge’s website.
“While tubing is certainly a fun activity it was clear that the resources allocated to get and keep the tubing hill open would be better spend toward improving the ski slopes,” the announcement read. “It takes a tremendous amount of snow-making to build the tubing lanes. That is snow guns, power and water that will all be directed toward getting more slopes open sooner this coming season.”
Plans for the facility were discussed in 1996.
It sits on about 50 acres formerly known as the Murray Hill Ski Club.
“We have several proposals on the table for the old Murray Hill ski area that was home to the Colden Tubing Co. A study is underway and we look forward to seeing what is in store for this re-imagined corner of Kissing Bridge,” officials said in the announcement.
