LOCKPORT – Three people were injured about 10:30 a.m. Thursday in a head-on crash between a car and a pickup truck on Sunset Drive just south of Leete Road in the Town of Lockport.
Niagara County Sheriff’s Office Capt. Bruce Elliott said none of the injuries appeared life-threatening.
Elliott said a GMC full-size pickup, driven by Jessica L. Farley, 29, of Medina, was northbound, headed downhill in slippery conditions when it crossed the center line and smashed into a southbound Pontiac Bonneville driven by Cheryl A. Harris, 58, of Brown Road, Newfane. Her husband, Gilbert J. Harris, 60, suffered a head injury, while both drivers suffered leg injuries and Farley also hurt her arm.
The victims were taken to Erie County Medical Center by ambulance, since Mercy Flight was grounded by the snow falling at the time. Wrights Corners and Miller Hose fire companies and Rural/Metro Medical Services ambulance responded. No tickets have been issued, but the investigation is continuing, Elliott said.
The crash closed down Sunset but it was back open by 1:15 p.m.
