The Key Bank branch at 1930 Niagara Falls Blvd. in the Town of Tonawanda was robbed late Thursday morning by a man who threatened that he had a bomb.
The threat prompted police and school officials to lock down the nearby Glendale Elementary School at 101 Glendale Drive in the town for about an hour as a precaution, Town of Tonawanda police officials said.
K-9 units from the Niagara Frontier Transit Authority and the Amherst Police Department were called to check on the safety of the bank and search the surrounding area for the robber, who remained at large Thursday evening.
Town of Tonawanda police ask anyone with information to contact them at (716) 879-6613.
