Two leaders from the Catholic Diocese of Buffalo will preside Friday at Masses in Washington, D.C., in conjunction with the annual March for Life rally protesting abortion. More than 300 people from Western New York are expected to take part in the rally.
Bishop Richard J. Malone will lead a Mass in the Washington armory with youth groups from Western New York. Three of the buses sent by the diocese to the rally will carry youth and chaperones who will attend the Mass.
Those on the other buses from the diocese will attend a Mass led by Bishop Edward M. Grosz, auxiliary bishop of Buffalo, and have breakfast in the Washington Plaza Hotel. The rally on the National Mall and the March for Life along Constitution Avenue to the Capitol and the Supreme Court will follow. Buses will leave from five locations Thursday morning.
