LOCKPORT – Steven J. Hummel of North Tonawanda was ousted from a court-supervised drug treatment program after pleading guilty to selling painkillers, but State Supreme Court Justice Richard C. Kloch Sr. sentenced him Tuesday to treatment in prison.
Hummel, 23, of Oliver Street, will be assigned to the Comprehensive Alcohol and Substance Abuse Treatment program, but he will serve two years in a regular cell and two years of post-release supervision if he fails again.
Hummel was optimistic. “This is the start of a new life,” he vowed.
Hummel pleaded guilty in March 2013 to selling buprenorphine in North Tonawanda on March 16 and 20, 2012.
