A new season of 'The Public Presents' at Nietzsche's

Buffalo alternative newspaper The Public will host the year's first installment of its ongoing “The Public Presents” series on Jan. 21 at Nietzsche’s (248 Allen St.) featuring performances from American Low, Humble Braggers and Kevin Scoma.

Humble Braggers' strong 2015 momentum paid off in a big way at the start of the new year. The Tom Burtless-fronted synth-rock trio's single “How It Starts” was featured on the CW show “iZombie” on Jan. 12; the band’s song “What’s Fair” will air during “The Flash” on Jan. 19.

As for American Low, after a rather quiet back half of 2015 following the release of the band’s debut, Quiet Country Audio-recorded EP “4-15,” the alt-rock three-piece will make its long-awaited return to the stage, the group's first gig since this past summer's Herd Fest.

The bill will be rounded out by former Buffalo ex-pat Kevin Scoma (Mandy K, Nelson-Type), set to deliver the debut performance of his in-the-works new project, which includes members of Bryan Johnson & Family and The Traditional.

The show starts at 8:30 p.m. with a cover of $5. Further event details can be found here.
