SCHRIVER, Louis Albert "Ramblin Lou"

SCHRIVER - Louis Albert "Ramblin Lou" Age 86, of Grand Island, January 17, 2016. He was President and General Manager of WXRL and a lifetime member of the "Country Music Association." and a member of the "Buffalo Music Hall of Fame," the "WNY Broadcasting Hall of Fame," and the Country Music "Disc Jockey Hall of Fame." For 51 years "Ramblin Lou" and his family played at the Erie County Fair. He received the "Distinguished Broadcaster Award" from the Buffalo Broadcaster Pioneers. He was a member of the Lifetime member of Musicians Local #92 of Buffalo and Musicians Local #209/106 of Tonawanda. He was the son of the late Louis and Edna Schriver. Beloved husband of Joan Schriver for over 54 years; dear father of Linda Lou Schriver-Sukennik (Bruce), Louis Edward Schriver, Lori Ann Schriver, Lynn Carol Schriver-Supparits (Steve); grandpa of Lindsey Carol Supparits, Crista Marie Sukennik, Louis Albert Schriver V, Luke Austin Schriver, and Raj Kumar Arumugam; brother of Doris (late Franklin) Wenske, the late Beverly (Joe) Sionko, Carol (Larry) Gerber, also survived by nieces and a nephew. Friends may call at the FRETTHOLD FUNERAL HOME, INC., 1241 Oliver St. at Ward Rd. in North Tonawanda on Wednesday and Thursday 2-4 and 7-9 PM. Funeral services will be held on Friday at 10:30 AM from Salem United Church of Christ, 114 Morgan St., Tonawanda. The Rev. Jeremy Lopez will officiate.
