Cut salaries at the top to boost workers’ pay
I read The News article about the Buffalo Niagara Partnership’s agenda to fight the minimum wage hike to a living wage of $15. When you put a picture of two people whose salaries are guesstimated to be close to $1 million a year with other perks, it’s pretty sad.
The irony is they claim their businesses can’t afford this. If that were true, then perhaps they need to look at their own overbloated salaries, lead by example and cut their pay. Instead, they want the taxpayers to continue to subsidize their low-wage workers with food stamps, heating and housing assistance. All the while crying they cannot afford it. Sorry, but their own salaries prove they can.
