Museum of Science to hold Energy Day on Jan. 23

Local companies will offer demonstrations at Buffalo Museum of Science’s Energy Day from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Jan. 23.

Praxair will have three stage shows showing the effects of extreme cold on solids, liquids and gases. Towne BMW will show a BMW i3 electric car. Time Warner Cable will do a waste heat demonstration to show the difference between CFL and incandescent light bulbs. The New York Power Authority will use an energy stick and Van De Graaff Generator for a presentation on hydro electricity. The Space Bulls RoBo Team will show off its University at Buffalo-designed and -tested Mars Rover-like vehicle. GRoW Buffalo will discuss sustainability education, and its second place finish at the 2015 Solar Decathlon.

Admission to the museum, 1020 Humboldt Parkway, is $11 for adults, $9 for seniors and $8 for children 2 to 17.
