Charity ice hockey game Saturday to benefit Wings Flights of Hope

An ice hockey game, to be played during the Town of Tonawanda’s Winterfest this weekend, will benefit Wings Flights of Hope, a local charity that transports people on free medical or compassionate missions all over the northeast.

Town of Tonawanda Police Officer Tim Day was flown by Wings Flights of Hope many times before and after his heart transplant May 31 in Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston.

Face-off for the annual game between the town Police Department and Ellwood Fire Company is at 2 p.m. Saturday in Lincoln Arena, 1200 Parker Blvd. Admission is free, but donations will be accepted at the arena.
