Ten baseball talents commit to NCCC

Ten out of 18 student-athletes who will officially commit to play baseball at Niagara County Community College during a signing ceremony at noon Sunday at the Sanborn campus hail from Western New York.

Those expected to sign with coach Matt Clingersmith's juggernaut junior college program include Dillon Boyack (Clarence), Jacob Cavana (Olean), Matthew Cross (Starpoint), Jonathan Dref (da Vinci), Evan Kaul (Iroquois), Joseph Kruazka (Gowanda), Jordan MacKinnon (St. Mary’s/Lancaster), William Newton (Newfane), Bradly Rybak (Silver Creek) and Noah Thompson (East Aurora).

“I couldn’t be happier with the group of young men we are welcoming in to our program,” Clingersmith said in a statement released by the college. “My coaching staff and I can’t wait for the opportunity to help develop these young men into winners on and off the field.”

The Thunderwolves have made the NJCAA Division III World Series three times (2009, 2012, 2013) since Clingersmith took over the program back in 2007. They won 31 games last season.
